Colonial Fest

The Colonial Heritage Festival is the largest living-history celebration of our nation’s founding west of the original 13 colonies; every member of your family will find something to love. Little ones can dip candles, grind wheat, carry water, and drill alongside the children’s militia. Older kids can set type on a working printing press, roll musket cartridges with the Continental Army, and sign the Declaration of Independence. Parents can wander among working artisans — blacksmiths, coopers, silversmiths, weavers, printers, and chocolate makers — or take afternoon tea with Benjamin Franklin, Thomas Jefferson, and John Adams themselves. Grandparents will treasure quiet discussions with the men and women of 1776 who set aside their differences and united under the shared belief that human beings are capable of governing themselves.
